WOMEN'S STUDIES PROGRAM

Women's Studies is a multidisciplinary field that expands the traditional liberal arts curriculum by focusing on the relationships of gender, culture and society. The Women's Studies program at Binghamton University offers students an opportunity to focus their studies on the experiences of women and the constructions of gender at the intersections of race, class and sexuality.

Students pursuing work in Women's Studies are expected to consult with a faculty member working in the Women's Studies area or the Women's Studies director regarding their educational plans and completion of requirements. Faculty members from a variety of disciplines offer regular courses in Women's Studies. Each semester, the Women's Studies department publishes a list of courses relevant to the program. Internships and special projects in local agencies are also possible under the supervision of the program's director
